Hello! I see that your travels have brought you to my humble town. Have you traveled far? I think you will find Ravenswood to be charming; a welcome respite from the busy world. The folks of Ravenswood are friendly, if not a bit quirky, and there's a bed and breakfast and tea room on nearly every corner. While at first glance you may think Ravenswood to be an unassuming place, a hidden gem in the glorious Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, you will soon find that we are anything but ordinary. For Ravenswood has a long and dark history. You see, it's origins are not of this world. In obscure history books hidden from the eyes of men and women, there are tales of another realm - the realm of Arathor. Since the beginning of time, there have been gateways between the realms of Earth and Arathor, guarded by men and women in both realms whose sole purpose was to keep the existence of the other realm hidden. Over time, towns have been built around these gates, established by Gatekeepers and their offspring. As long as the Gatekeepers were vigilant, the residents of Earth remained untouched by the happenings of the dark realm of Arathor. In recent years, however, the Gatekeepers have forgotten their destiny. Lulled into complacency by the materialism and pleasures of the Earthen realm, the Gatekeepers have fallen asleep. Their children no longer know of their rich history and the gates stand unguarded. For all intents and purposes, the Gatekeepers, who were born in the realm of Arathor, have become Earthlings. I have just recounted to you the history of Ravenswood. There are other towns around the globe with similar origins and similar tales, but all you need to know about right now is the ground you're standing on. I would be foolish not to warn you of what awaits. And this is where things get really interesting... The Ravenscrest Gate on the edge of town has been unguarded for many years. If you're brave enough, you can go and see it for yourself (just watch out for the residents of the regal old estate that overlooks the gate). Over the years, the gate has fallen into disrepair, overgrown with ivy and decades of neglect. But as these things tend to go, the enemy on the other side has been digging her treacherous tentacles into the town while the Gatekeepers sleep. A little bit here, a little bit there. As Arathor does not follow the same laws of science and physics as Earth, things are very different over there. I won't waste your time telling you all about it for you would not understand. Suffice it to say, it is a land governed by the laws of what Earthlings call myth and magic. And the effects of Arathor are leaking into this world through the unguarded gates; Ravenswood specifically. Supernatural. That is the label slapped on these effects. Ghosts, vampires, hauntings, magic, zombies, aliens, unexplained phenomenon - these are the names humans give to things they cannot explain. The myths and urban legends of Earth are but poor reflections of the truths that exist in Arathor. Many believe Ravenswood to be haunted, but I tell you, it is not the ghosts of the dead that walk in our midst. No, I daresay that the unattended gate is to blame for all the unexplained happenings in our midst. Did I scare you away with my tales? I hope not! I encourage you to stick around, get to know us a little. Your time here just might change your outlook and your life!
